Biography

Samantha Bailey is a PhD student in the Clinical Pharmaceutical Scientist track under the mentorship of Dr. Philip Empey. Her research interests include large-scale population research, pharmacogenomics, depressive disorders, and education. Samantha earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree with an Area of Concentration in Research from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy in 2020 and is a licensed pharmacist in Pennsylvania. That same year, she was honored as an inaugural Scholar of the National Human Genome Research Institute’s (NHGRI) Inter-Society Coordinating Committee for Practitioner Education in Genomics (ISCC-PEG). In addition, Samantha completed a master’s level certificate in Clinical and Translational Research at the University of Pittsburgh School of medicine in 2021. She refined her research skills as an ORISE Fellow in the Department of Translational and Precision Medicine (DTPM) at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2024, where she evaluated intrinsic and extrinsic factors in drug labeling.
