Dr. Kerry Empey was awarded an NIH R21 titled: Optimization a self-adjuvanting particle system for delivering respiratory syncytial virus prefusion protein.
This proposal, funded by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, aims to characterize a novel vaccine formulation, designed by Dr. Wilson Meng at Duquesne University, to safely improve the immune response to RSV, a disease that causes significant morbidity and mortality in young children and elderly adults.
