Biography

Dr. Zhang is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences in the School of Medicine. She is also a member of the Magee-Womens Research Institute and the Rohan Pharmaceutics Laboratory in the School of Pharmacy. Dr. Zhang holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry. After completing a brief postdoctoral fellowship, she conducted proteomics research and provided proteomics services before joining Dr. Rohan's group as a Research Scientist.

Research Interests

Trained as an analytical chemist, Dr. Zhang is passionate about advancing women’s health by deepening the understanding of female reproductive tract physiology and developing pharmaceutical products that are safe, effective, acceptable, and affordable. Her current work spans drug discovery and pharmaceutical product development, integrating bioanalytical chemistry with studies of drug metabolism, transport, and permeation, as well as drug‑drug, drug‑protein, and protein‑protein interactions. In addition to her scientific research, she leads project management efforts across multiple initiatives aimed at improving women’s health.
